1. Chorus (합창)
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
야훼의 영광이 나타나리니 모든 사람이 그 영화를 보리라. 야훼께서 친히 이렇게 약속하셨다.(사40:5)
2. Recitative for alto (알토 서창)
Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Emmanuel, God with us.
보라, 동정녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳으리니, 그 이름을 임마누엘이라 하리라. 하나님께서 우리와 함께 계신다.(사7:14, 마1:23)
3. Air for alto, and chorus (알토 영창과 합창)
O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion, get thee up into the high mountain. O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up thy voice with strength. lift it up, be not afraid. say unto the cities of Judah, behold your god!
시온에 기쁜 소식을 전하는 이여, 높은 산에 올라라. 예루살렘에 기쁜 소식을 전하는 이여, 힘껏 외쳐라. 두려워 말고 소리를 높여라. 유다의 도시들에 말하라, 하나님을 바라보라.(사40:9)
Arise, shine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
일어나 비추어라. 빛이 왔다. 야훼의 영광이 너를 비춘다.(사60:1)
4. Chorus (합창)
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
우리를 위하여 태어날 한 아기, 우리에게 주시는 아드님. 그 어깨에는 주권이 메어지겠고, 그 이름은 탁월한 경륜가, 용사이신 하느님, 영원한 아버지, 평화의 왕이라 불릴 것입니다.(사9:5)
5. Recitative for soprano (소프라노 서창)
There were shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night.
그 근방 들에는 목자들이 밤을 새워가며 양떼를 지키고 있었다.(눅2:8)
6. Recitative for soprano (소프라노 서창)
And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore afraid.
주님의 영광의 빛이 그들에게 두루 비치면서 주님의 천사가 나타났다. 목자들이 겁에 질려 떠는 것을 보고(눅2:9)
7. Recitative for soprano (소프라노 서창)
And the angel said unto them. “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day, the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
천사가 그들에게 말하였다. “두려워하지 말고 보라, 나는 너희에게 기쁜 소식을 전하러 왔다. 모든 백성들에게 큰 기쁨이 될 소식이다. 오늘 밤 너희의 구세주께서 다윗의 고을에 나셨다. 그 분은 바로 주님이신 그리스도이시다.”(눅2:10~11)

And suddenly there was with the angel, a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying:
이 때에 갑자기 수많은 하늘의 군대가 나타나 그 천사와 함께 하나님을 찬양하기를:(눅2:13)

“Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth, good will towards men.”
“하늘 높은 곳에는 하나님께 영광, 땅에서는 그가 사랑하시는 사람들에게 평화.”(눅2:14)
10. Recitative for alto (알토 서창)
Then shall the eyes of the blind be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing.
그 때에 눈 먼 사람은 눈을 뜨고, 귀 먹은 사람은 귀가 열리리라. 그 때에 다리가 불편한 사람은 사슴처럼 기뻐 뛰며, 말 못하는 사람도 입이 풀려 노래하리라.(사35:5~6)
11. Air for alto and soprano (알토와 소프라노 영창)
He shall feed His flock like a shepherd, and He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.
목자처럼 당신의 양떼에게 풀을 뜯기시며 새끼 양들을 두 팔로 안아 가슴에 품으시고 젖먹이 딸린 어미 양을 곱게 몰고 오신다.(사40:11)
Come unto Him, all ye that labour, come unto Him that are heavy laden, and He will give you rest. Take his yoke upon you, and learn of Him, for He is meek and lowly of heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
고생하며 무거운 짐을 지고 허덕이는 사람은 다 나에게로 오라. 내가 편히 쉬게 하리라. 나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 내 멍에를 메고 나에게 배워라. 그러면 너희의 영혼이 안식을 얻을 것이다.(마11:28~29)
12. Chorus (합창)
Hallelujah, for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth.
할렐루야, 주 우리 하나님 전능하신 분께서 다스리신다.(계19:6)
The kingdom of this world is become the kingdom of our Lord, and of His Christ, and He shall reign for ever and ever.
세상 나라는 우리 주님과 그 분이 세우신 그리스도의 나라가 되었고, 그리스도께서 영원무궁토록 군림하실 것이다.(계11:15)
King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Hallelujah!
모든 왕의 왕, 모든 군주의 군주. 할렐루야!(계19:16)
